Some times when running around the country, when we get hungry and start looking for a good food stop restaurant it's nice to know someone was here before us and it was a good place to eat, at that time anyway.
If you find one and it's good let use here know.

I'll start,     Mission BBQ, 970 Loucks Rd., Maple Village Plaza, Look for the Big blackish Army Truck

The 3 show signs are up on the fences.
The fair grounds are locked down, all gates closed except Highland Ave., it has a barricade and a sign "No Trespassing, Cameras in use, all vehicles will be searched"   :o
Edit: Maybe it's just for the weekend of the 4th..
Edit: 7-10-14, Highland Ave. & Carlisle Ave. gates are open.
                     W. Market St. gate still closed.

Technical Advice and Questions / Re: Battery
« on: June 27, 2014, 04:18:23 pm »
Which battery would you recommend yellow top or red top optima for a cj 7... I have a winch two kc lights and a 400 watt amp

Thanks
Dave
My smittybuilt xrc8 pulls about 450 amps when fully loaded.  I have to pause during pulls to let my charging system catch up with the depleted battery.  During one strong/long pull it actually stalled my jeep due to the alternator locking up from the magnetic field generated by the high electrical load.  I would get the strongest battery you could if your going to be winching a lot.  I have a napa battery in mine, and for the most part, it's just fine.
Are you guy's using a Snatch Block or two? It would reduce heat buildup and amp draw, also use up some of the outer cable, by getting you down on the first wrapping of cable.
I wasn't for that pull, I didn't have any recovery gear with me, it was a "crap Paul can you come get me" wheelin trip.
Don't you just love those 1am. phone calls? ;D

Here's my question, tell me if I'm reading this right...

Can I have my dog in the campground AND the fairground, as long as he's on a short leash?  I think that's new this year. I hope I read that right, it will save me the added expense of a house-sitter... more money for Jeep Parts!

I haven't read anything to dispute your question.
Our EVENT AREA includes everything inside the silver fence that goes around the outside of the track. The Expo Center (York Fair Grounds), outside the fenced in track, allows dogs on a short leash and is not technically our EVENT AREA. The camping area is not technically our EVENT AREA, the fenced in track area is the EVENT AREA. Looks like dogs can be anywhere on the grounds, but MUST BE ON A SHORT LEASH!
