Installed really nice reproductions of the original Willys Jeep tail lights this morning. Heavy metal housing, thick chrome bezel, and real glass lenses. (Anyone want the ones with plastic lenses that I removed, shoot me an e-mail.)

Don't crack those lenses.  Found them hard to replace without buying the whole thing.

Well... there just might be a Bantam (Butler, PA) T3C trailer following Old Yeller to York in a couple weeks...

Here's the trailer with some final rust removal and prep for priming. The plan is to have the frame black and the tub... YELLOW!  ;D

Well... after looking at the '02 WJ for a while we decided it needed a face lift, I hunted around and found a body shop with a good reputation for restoration. We discussed fixing the couple of dents, adding a couple of things and of course a new paint job. The price that guy quoted was unbelievably HIGH  :o  (quite a few thousands of dollars) BUT he guaranteed it would look awesome, ALMOST new. I thought "I don't know... it's almost 8 years old, got 150K miles, but it runs good, the Air is COLD",  so I bit the bullet  :-\

It didn't take as long as I thought it would. Let me know if you think I tossed good $$ after bad (of course, NO Jeep is bad...) Below are the "before" and "after". I have to admit though, he was right, it did turn out pretty good, rides real good, runs great! Now if I can just squeeze a few more years out of it...

My 1947 Bantam Trailer T3-C is on the home stretch. Hope it comes together in time for Saturday!

So, what do all y'all think so far?

(I know... it's not as pretty as Jack's Grand Cherokee...!)  >:D

well after all the work weve been putting into boys jeep it was ready for a longer maiden voyage so we took it the whole way to the car wash and then the gas station for the first tank of fuel its probably had in 15 years. good to see another jeep back on the road. few more odds and ends and we are ready for the show and will have a photo book for the pics.

I actually opened the hood and did some work. Finally got the Howell TBI idle adjusted propertly and she purrs now. However, now there's an oil leak....Always something.
Now more time to mess with it this week. I think I have an event to attend to.

Well, not today - but last week since the weather was nice I decided to get it out of the garage and drive it to work in MD (52 miles one way), and woudn't you know it broke down on me and left me stranded on 695? Something in the cooling system judging by the high temps, steam, and antifreeze all over the place. Yes, I just had the water pump replaced in the fall, so what now? It sure was expensive to get it towed back to PA!!!!  :o I don't have it back yet, so not sure what's wrong with it. I should have it back in time for the show...

So my trusty mechanic seems to think that it was just some mud that caused my Jeep to overheat on 695 the other day.  :-\ He said he cleaned everything out and it is running fine. Hmmm, I wonder how all that dirt got in there?  >:D That sure was an expensive lesson in cleaning up after playing in the mud.  :-[
