The Sawzall was too big to get into some areas...Like trying to peel an apple in a soup can!  Borrowed a neighbor's grinder.  Used an impact wrench and breaker bar on the bad nuts.  The connector plate forward of the cat is particularly bad with rust.   ::)

Have to drop off some spacer material at transmission shop.  New skid plate made the drive line angle too steep even with the motor mount lift.  >:(  If I wasn't planning on changing the transfer case out next year, I'd be looking at the slip yoke eliminators.  For now, I'll just live with a little less clearance - but it's still more than what I had with the stock skid plate.  ;D  And it's now got a beefed up transmission as well.  :D

It's about time for a real long thread on the PA Jeeps Forum! ;D

Let everyone know what you did to your Jeep today! ;)

I just noticed the "read" count on this thread that I started in May of 2009. Over 31,600 reads!  :o
I think this is the longest PA Jeeps thread ever. Keep 'em coming folks!

Great thread, Mike!  Absolutely one of my favorites!

Bought a tailpipe, downpipe, and a new catalytic converter.  Returned the grinder to my neighbor.  Will probably work on Wobble's excretory system after the holiday if I survive Black Friday!

Got the tailpipe job done early so that it wouldn't have to be done over the weekend.

Got my TJ back from the transmission shop  :)  New transmission (a "heavy duty" version) really feels nice.  New belly pan required spacers to keep the driveshaft happy - it doesn't take more than a 2" lift to make the stock driveshaft unhappy in the TJ with a new belly pan (and that's with a MML, too)  :P

Now, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow  ;D

Once my schedule clears up a bit, I can make it back out for trail rides, especially those with the EVOR group.

Fought with my new rock rails all day yesterday, and I have to admit defeat. :-\ they are still in the jeep and not on them.... I did however pick up my new rim today. Too cold to swap it out and put the spare back on the back.

Tomorrow or the next day it will be time to pull out the grinder and make the rails fit. Come hell or high water I will have them on before the weekend.

I don't know if all rock rail installations are difficult, but mine were.  Had to cut away the pinch seam on the frame, grind out the bolt holes, and of course bore into the frame to make the holes, which took me leaning on my dad's shoulder for all I was worth just so he could punch through the metal with the drill.

We put each rail up on the floor jack (in place), marked the holes, then drilled pilot holes.  IMO, 2 people makes the job easier...and it still was challenging!
