Thanks Erica  I didn't know it was going to be that much when I dropped it off or I would have tried it myself.

Finally got a few spare minutes to finish ripping the engine out of the ZJ. Once I got it out I noticed a good sized hole on the drivers side of the block. There goes any hope of building that up as a spare for my XJ.

Found out that my coolant overflow bottle is still leaking, despite Mighty Putty and tighter hose clamps.  I'll probably go to KW2J tomorrow and look for a new one.  Their website shows $31.20 for one, and Stetler's wants $76 for the same thing!

Speaking of steering, I need to take my Camaro back to the place that screwed up the column while "fixing" it during inspection.  I turned on the headlights, they were on high beam from the shop, I went to switch to low beam and I heard something come loose and couldn't switch to low.  That's really nice when you have to go to work at night!  Thank God for the Jeep!

Angie, might be a good time to convert to the newer style XJ cooling system that doesn't have a pressurized tank. It's pretty simple to do, just need the tank and radiator from a newer style XJ. They have the cap on the radiator isntead of the tank.

If you have a spare jug, I'll be happy to take that for now.  I really don't want to spend money on another rad just yet.   How much do you want for it and when/where can I get it?

I have a bottle from a 94 XJ and you can get a new radiator with a lifetime warranty from Ebay for less than $100. I've been using the Ebay rads in my stuff for a while now and no issues. We even have a few customers from the shop driving around on Ebay rads. From the ones we were getting from Pepboys we had about 3 of them crack at the plastic tanks less than a year after installing them. The one I just got for the ZJ was $70 shipped. If you wanna do it you can have the tank from the 94.

Sounds good, but would a '94 tank work on an '88 Limited?  http://www.knowwhere2jeep.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=9639  <--- This ad said '87-'90, unless you have a diesel (which I don't), then '87-96.
I'll have to check out the eBay radiators, too.
