I may consider going back into the wood lot with my red jeep and two others, to do "some work"

Trail ride to Lewisberry.  This will be a day of red trails, soaked with the blood of the infidels.  :P

Adam that really sucks and I feel your pain.
Many, many years ago (1984) I had a mint 79' CJ-5 Golden Eagle Edition that had the radio stolen from.
On top of that, the person(s) felt it neccessary to cut the soft top to ribbons, smash all of the exterior lights as well as all the dash guages.

I really felt violated  :'( and couldn't understand the reason for the vandalism for a cheap radio.

When I was attending classes at HACC,  I caught someone trying to boost the factory radio/ 8track from my 1981,  Flagged down a Harrisburg cop that happened to be there for a meeting in blocker hall,  Must be horrible to be arrested for stealing a 8 track.

hillbilly, do what i did with mine. take a piece of chain and bolt it fast to the radio bracket then bolt it fast somewhere. so when they try to take it it wont come out. it works great. the chains for wallets works the best. or you can use the ones for hanging plants. make sure u bolt it fast to some place strong. ;D

Hillbilly, if the chains dont work just put a pit bull in the back that works too. my cousin did that and the neighbor kids dont steal from him again. its pretty funny when you hear the kid yelling mommy running throught the woods with a pit bull chasing him. your choice on which one to use.

Removed some of the 20+ years of gunk from the axles, etc.  After spending so much time working underneath the Jeep, I decided that it needed to look better than that!

I would be up for that, never wheeled with another eight before. Heck it is rare to wheel w/ another CJ :P

Took it down off the jackstands.  I should have taken a photo of it while it was up--it looked like it had a monster lift!  ;D

I also came to the realization that if I had gone to R/C, the Jeep would have died somewhere around I-81 and probably would have had to be towed.  Thankfully, the alternator went out on Sunday instead, closer to home!  Just one of those stupid little things that seem awful at the time but could have been much worse.

Took the torch to the steering shaft and it is now off......However, the column shaft is toast too. It just keeps getting worse.
There is a bright side though, Wayne has a tilt column for sale so now I get to see how easy the entire column comes out  ::)
