Tran's problem ?
« on: September 14, 2008, 12:14:36 pm »
I have an all stock 87 Comanche 2 wheel drive  :'(  4 liter, auto    Problem is when you drive, it has power up to 30-35 than it falls on its face. I did tune up and still doe's it. A guy said it might be the shift points are off. Any help would be great.

Sounds like you're loosing compression....IF that's the case...that's NOT good.

Could it be the throttle body sensor?

Hey Hillbilly,
Sorry to get off topic, but what's the deal with the F150 vacuum spring - a - majig??? Where's it located on the trans and how much of a hassle is it to swap out? My F150 upshifts so fast it feels like I dropped an anchor! Again....sorry for deviating from the subject matter!

Thanks for all the info. We got it working. On the dash there is the power/economy switch and it works ok when you have it on the power setting. Going to try to get a new switch.
