8.8 for myYJ
« on: January 06, 2008, 08:31:15 am »
I am going monday to pick-up my new rear.  Question is My HEEP is not a DD really just a weekend warrior, but it still sees substantial street time.  I am running 33's under my 4cyl, and I am going to gear out to 4.56 maybe 4.88.  Is this going to be to much for street use?  The rear has a limited slip will I be able to keep it when I regear? Or don't I want it?  What type of locker should I go with?  Keep in mind this is a budget build.  Thanx for reading, now how about some advice .

I was running 4:56 gears on swamper 32's with a auto locker in the rear, ran it as a dd for 2 years, the gearing works just low for the street at times, you still can run 70-75 on the highway if needed, I would go with a manual locker though, if your streeting it at all in the weather it was interesting, and very hard on rear tires. ( and blew the D35 2X's ::))  I'm planning on still using the 4:56 gears on 36 or 37's, good luck if this helps at all.
Always a work in progress!!  Build, break, repeat!!
