Technical Advice and Questions / Re: Chebby 350 conversion in 85 CJ7...

Go for it  but listen to the advise above. When I did Jenn's YJ 17 years ago I made the wiring harness and had to use weld in mounts so measurements were important. Now I believe they make a bolt in crossmember/mount set up. If you have any questions I will try to help out but I suffer from CRS but will do my best. I'm not on here that much so direct your questions to Jenn (Jeepnharleymomma) and she will get me.

I'm a big fan of syn. oil , but with that said with use whatever oil makes you feel warm and fuzzy if it is changed when needed you will never have an oil related engine failure.(really no need for additives) The main reason there are leaks reported once conventional oil has been replaced with syn. oil  is due to "false seal", dyno oil will create varnish at the sealing surface and syn. oil will wash that away if the seal is questionable it will leak . I'm not a fan of converting over on high mileage engines just for the reason stated above.  If you want more info on oil than you will ever need or want check out this sitehttp://www.bobistheoilguy.com/

Well it been a little more than later in the week but it's out. Will have to try to keep the momentum going. Jenn keeps distracting me with snapped axles, bearing failure,  a smoked winch, building her D44s .

General Discussion / Re: What did you do to your Jeep today?
« on: October 10, 2009, 09:04:22 pm »
Spent a little time with Willys today finally took the engine out. Was going to remove the springs and axles. but than I wouldn't have anything to bring to the Willys show except for a bare frame.  Looks like I'll be doing some work on Jenn's YJ she let the smoke out of the winch today while she was wheel'n at snow shoe. She wasn't even pulling anything ,she was just putting the cable back on neatly and puff now it don't work   Dave
