"You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser? "

This all relative to to power it had when it was stock. Will it roll down the road and get up to speed ? Yes, just not quickly. On the trail in low range it'll be adequate. Somehow I don't think he or we are getting the whole story. "he should be running equal to a 6 cyl. with 3:54's" remember there is no replacement for cubic displacement.

373:1 and 34's you have an effective gear ratio of 297:1  It's going to be a slug. If it's a good deal buy it and regear with 456:1 or 488:1

Once I get started on Jenn's YJ particularly the axle swap (Dana44 frt. and rear from a 87 Waggy)I have opportunity to install them any which way I choose. I was considering spring over axle. I know what all is involved that's not a issue but, because the Yj gets as much if not more road time as it does trail time.  With the way it sits now(SUA) I think I'll get tire rub with the 35's. Center of gravity is somewhat of a concern with SOA . Which way do you think I should go?

Yep if it's got play in it, it's bad  I'll tell you the way my boss tells me at work .  "Well it should only take you a few minutes to fix that, just zip out" what a DH he is.

"Throwing parts at it gets expensive quick . There are times when it cheaper to have it diagnosed and repair professionally"

Glad it's fixed and you found someone to treat you right.

Good job, be sure the wheel bearing issue is truly bad and not the axle u-joint. Hub bearings tend to roar rolling down the road changing volume when sawing on the steering wheel ,as opposed to a u-joint that usually squeaks. When spinning the hub in your hand it will feel rough. Of course once you have the hub assembly out it's just a matter of sliding the axle out you may want to change the u-joint as preventive thing. You're there working on so I'm not second guessing you,but the price difference between the two warants a second or third look.
