how about:
- a one-on-one jeep tug-of-war, can even have a buy-in and winner gets part of the pot
- jeep class vs. class tug-of-war where the drivers will do the pulling, not the jeep
- winch safety/pointers demo
- trail riding basics/repairs demo
- raffle off products where a vendor/shop will provide the labor and install the product that day at the show (ie. gears, exhaust, bumpers, etc.)
- a meet & greet the night before the start of the show, like at hooters, 5 guys, etc., and then a cruise/mall crawl somewhere
- discount show fee for military, advertise at auto hobby shops at the bases

that's it for now...

my jeep is a 2002 tj, 4.0l, 5 speed, 4" lift, 33" tires, d30 spartan locker. last week, i was going through a round-a-bout in 3rd gear and heard a clunking/knocking noise coming from underneath around the tranny area. i placed it in neutral (noise went away) and i slowed down. i then downshifted to 2nd and released the clutch and the noise came back. so i pulled off the road and stopped. when i shifted to 1st and released the clutch, the noise returned. so i had aaa tow it back to my house.

when i got home, i drove down my street. 1st gear with clutch engaged and noise was there. i shifted to 2nd, noise went away during the shift but returned once in gear. the noise frequency is based on vehicle speed, not engine speed. so i tried starting in 4th, and the noise was still there. throughout this troubleshooting, with the clutch depressed i noticed the noise was a 2-3 on a scale of 10. when in gear and clutch released, the noise was a 8-9.

the driveshaft u-joints look okay and so do the axle u-joints. i'm leaning towards u-joints or axle bearings in the front. i plan on changing the clutch since it's still the original one with 87k miles, so that will give me a chance to checkout the tranny and t-case. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

anyone consider participating in red lion's memorial day parade? here's the info:

Memorial Day Parade and Memorial Service, Monday, May 30 10AM
The Red Lion American Legion Post 543 and the Red Lion Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1446 will host the
annual Memorial Day Parade and Memorial Service on Monday, May 30, 2011. The Parade will form at
9AM on Horace Mann Ave. and step off at 10AM traveling as follows: north on S. Main St.; west on
W. Broadway; south on S. Franklin St.; east on Boundary Ave. to Fairmount Park. The Memorial Service will
be held at the completion of the Parade at the Red Lion Memorial Shaft, located on the Boundary Ave. side
of Fairmount Park. In case of very extreme weather, the Service will be held in the Auditorium of the Red Lion Senior
High School. We would like the community to participate with floats, antique vehicles etc. showing respect and
appreciation of those who have served in Armed Forces of the U.S. If interested in participating, please call the
American Legion at 244-4828. We are hoping to see most of the Red Lion Community attend to honor those who
gave their lives for us!
