Technical Advice and Questions / Re: Engine Light, Battery Gauge
« on: January 26, 2014, 08:58:53 pm »
safe bet those events are connected. If it was me  i would just disconnect the batt for a few minutes to reset the check engine light and drive it for a week to see if it comes back.

Just for the sake of closure i found what the issue was. turns out when i dropped the transfer case with the spacers it altered the angle too much on the shifter linkage bracket causing it to bang against the body when the transfer case shifted. removed the spacers. now i just need a cv drive shaft.

Ok....sounds like a plan....

However, got home and turned the key, nothing...turned it again...fired right up....didnt hit, touch, nothing, just turned the key....

You have probably already done this. i only mention it because i have overlooked the simple things in the past only to be burned. Sometimes one of the batt cables can be loose enough to prevent the starter from engaging even know the rest of the power works normal.

Technical Advice and Questions / Re: How much lift
« on: October 29, 2013, 04:20:11 am »
i'd be curious to know the answer to this question as well. My guess would be by measuring the unloaded length of the coils. But i image that differs based on the manufacturer of the lift. If you know the brand you could call them. i am sure they would have a good method

the second part sounds like it could be a loose or corroded batt terminal. the first part is odd. i would also check the connections on the ecm and the alternator.

General Discussion / Re: Anyone up for a run to Trails RD in Delta
« on: October 05, 2013, 07:14:26 pm »
there are a few little things to climb on but nothing that will last all day. just make sure you turn on the rd with just a street sign that says Trails Rd. if you see a bunch of trespassing signs you are at the wrong entrance. basically on one end are the pand owners wo dont want vehicles down there. they are cool if you hike or fish but no driving. the other end is cool though.

Do you have adjustable upper rear control arms? If so you could adjust up the nose of the rear diff.

i do yes. good idea. never even occurred to me.

Your rear axle yoke may need to be "shimmed" ever so slightly upwards, but better yet install an SYE kit.

i would like to install a SYE. i have the adapter just dont have 400 for the drive shaft

OK. its  4inch iron rok on a 99 wrangler with a 1 inch body lift. lowered transfer case no slip yoke eliminator. it only happens when pulling out from a stop when i give it a little gas. i am thinking its when the rear lifts. only happens going forward. the kits included new upper and lower links, new front track bar,  rear track relocation bracket springs and shocks. i cannot find any shinny spots. the rear track bar was right against the gas tank skid plate. but a large hammer took care of that. i am unfortunately deployed again so i cannot look at it anymore for a bit but any ideas would be appreciated.
