Today's safety class went very well, we had 4 jeeps on the trail with a total of 8 persons. I enjoyed helping to review and bring attention to the safety and common wheeling practices that this club observes. We started off with 3 hours of classroom instruction that included practical recovery demonstrations by Ted and his "work horse" jeep . We took a lunch break and went over a trail talk. We hit the A trail loop led by Chris with me serving as tail gunner. All of us traveled all the way back to the "quarry" and looped back to the parking lot by 4:00. Where we all went over our jeeps to inspect for damage and I am happy to report no one suffered any !! I am very happy to have had the opportunity to conduct another club safety class at Rausch and look forward to more SOON!!  Thanks again to those that were able to attend today !!!!!!!!!

Well Ted I really did appreciate you and the rest of your family coming up for the class. Your knowledge of winching and recovery operations far exceeds most wheelers!!  I hope you were able to repair the water pump with no other problems  :)

Thanks for posting this up Jenn, I would hope to get a good group of wheelers out for this day ,so if everyone can keep posting up and spreading the word it would be great  :) I am planning on having a short class to begin with just to cover basic first aid and trail safety then go over some hands on demonstrations of safety / proper wheeling practices that we adhere to as a club . The first class we did last fall  was very informative with a great discussion section where the " newer wheelers" learned from some of our " veteran wheelers "  : ;D I look forward to enhancing the clubs already stealer safety record !

Well that sucks Coli  :'( hopefully you can still make it up just to add your knowledge  ;) To those that can make it I would like to leave the parking lot of the 83 diner by 7:30 to ensure that we are at rausch by 9:00. If anyone has any questions please feel free to call me at 7178709039 anytime. remember to watch the weather forecast as, of right now it looks like it is goin to be rain free but chilly. In the event that it looks like heavy rain i will make the call to cancell on Saturday night.Afterall this is a safety class and we do not need to be setting the example in a rain storm out on the trails  ;D. for those of who have not wheeled with us please pack a lunch or snacks for your enjoyment. Thanks again guys !!!!!!!!

Safety / On & Off The Trail / Safety Class at rausch creek
« on: September 15, 2012, 11:07:45 am »
We are going to be holding a trail safety class on Sept 30 th at Rausch Creek. I would like to start the class on site at 9:00 and it would take approx 3 hours. Then afterwards we will be going out on the property to wheel and go over things that we talked about in class. The overall concept of this class is to give those individuals, both new and seasoned wheelers,a better understanding of getting through the day on the trails and doing it safely. Encourage everyone form the "bone stock" jeep to the rock crawlers to attend and share experiences and build new friendships withen our club This class will cover such topics as first aid, winching, trail driving skills and overall how to make wheeling a safe and FUN experience !!!!!! For those of you that are new to our club we meet at the restraunt on interstate 83 at the Strinestown exit for coffee/breakfast and we will be leaving there at 7:45 because it takes approx 1 hour to get to rausch. Please post up on here to give me a understanding of how many people will be attending,if you did sign up at the meeting i would still like you to reply on this post to let me know that you got this info . Thank you all in advance and please feel free to ask any ?????? or concerns
