« on: August 23, 2012, 06:57:11 am »
Not really today, but over the past week....

- new rear shocks (Fox 2.0)
- new tie rod and tie rod ends (Iron Rock Offroad HD)
- front end alignment
- new bushings in my trailer

I am now trail ready once again!  ;D

P.S. - Thanks Dave!

Yes, I wasn't extremely impressed by the wheelin' so far. Is it just me or did it look like they were on primitive roads in the jungle a few times rather than blazing trails? I will still tune in next week to see what they do with the Jeep next week.

General Discussion / Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival 2012
« on: August 14, 2012, 08:50:57 pm »
A few PA Jeepers and EVOR folks made it to the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival this past weekend. As an afterthought we ended up doing a PA Jeeps Club tent to promote the club and the show. There was some interest in the show and we actually signed up a new member to the club!!

Here's a few of my pictures:

Thanks for shareing your photos Colli , a little bridge work is in order up in Maine it seems . very nice photos .
Your yeller Jeep sets off the photos very well .

It wasn't exactly a county road. I guess they don't repair bridges on abandoned roads in the middle of nowhere.  :D

Got back last week from a fabulous week in Maine visiting my parents. (in between trail rides) Also spent a couple days at the Mid Coast Maine Ride hosted by the Western Maine Mountain Jeepers. (http://www.jeepmaine.com/) These are the same folks that host the Jeep Jamboree in Bethel, Maine every fall. Anyway, it was a great time and here are a few pictures:

Technical Advice and Questions / Re: Leaky Shock

Thanks all. That's what I thought. The shocks are 4 years old and they have been abused jus a little.  ;D How long should shocks last?

Technical Advice and Questions / Leaky Shock
« on: July 27, 2012, 12:46:18 pm »
Just got to Maine for vacation and when I pulled the Jeep off the trailer I noticed one of the rear shocks (BDS 9500) is leaking oil pretty good. I'm not anywhere that I can get a replacement right now, but I hauled the Jeep all the way up here to take it out and play with it. Will I risk hurting anything else or getting stranded if I run the Jeep with the bad shock or will it just not ride or perform as well?

17th Annual (2012) / Re: Just wanted to voice some anger
« on: July 24, 2012, 07:30:19 am »
I am not trying to be selfish. I was unable to make contact with any of the coordinators that afternoon since I was upset with the issue. Like I said I have been to every Show here in York since the first. I am sure since I am local that I will continue to attend. Although I do believe that the tone in which you responded Rick is kind of uncalled for I was simply trying to bring it to the attention of the staff so that it could be addressed. Maybe from now on it could be advertised as raffle immediately following the parade. I am thankful to know that I did not miss any of my numbers since I was there by the first recall. Hope to have a good show again next year.

I don't think Rick meant to offend anyone. I think he was just trying to make the point that there were literally hundreds of people waiting so we wanted to get things rolling so folks didn't get restless. If we had waited people would have complained that we made them wait. You can't please everyone with a crown that large. Anyway, it's really hard to interpret someone's exact intended tone in forum posts. Sarcasm, frustration, and passion can easily be mistaken for something else. One might have thought that your tone in this post was uncalled for:

60 views and not one response from an event coordinator???

But let's all give each other the benefit of the doubt and assume there was no ill will on anyone's part and continue to support each other in our Jeep family. Thanks for coming out to the show for so many years and we look forward to seeing you again next year.

The event coordinators are still at the fairgrounds today wrapping things up from the weekend. I assure you that your concern will be addressed when the guys get a minute to take a breath. Thanks for your patience.

How much did you cost to get a OSV pass? The last time I checked you could only get a yearly pass and it was not cheap.
