Got some lovely shots of a Bald Eagle sitting on rooftops in the adjacent neighborhood today.  What a majestic creature!

Those talons are as wide as the shingle tabs that it's sitting on!  :o

General Discussion / Going out with a bang (literally)!
« on: October 04, 2011, 08:48:25 am »
A lot of people opt for cremation when they die.  Most remains wind up in urns or perhaps scattered by hand in the loved one's former favorite places.  However, these guys came up with a more exciting option:  http://myholysmoke.com/Home_Page.html

Just think--your final moment of glory can be hitting the broad side of a turkey at 900 ft./second!   ;D

« on: July 19, 2010, 04:13:53 pm »
Once again this year, I have Saturday and Sunday folders.  It's hard to take pictures & work at the same time, but if you take a reallllllly long lunch break, you can get a few hundred!  ;)

If you wheeled the obstacle course between 1 and 3 Sunday, you *might* be in here...
***If you look reeeeeal close, you can spot me riding shotgun!  Yee ha!  8)

(To the guy in the green TJ):  I hope the video that I took on your camera turned out well!

Technical Advice and Questions / Lift kit on eBay
« on: December 30, 2009, 10:34:58 am »
Hey, guys!  I saw this lift kit package on eBay and just wanted your opinions on it.  Bear in mind that I'd like to lift the XJ around 4.5" and am still considering tire size, but at least 32".  Thanks!

14th Annual (2009) / We made the newspaper!
« on: July 20, 2009, 10:20:30 am »
Today's (7-20-09) York Daily Record has a write-up of the Jeep Show as well as a few photos right on the front cover!  Check it out if you haven't already! http://www.inyork.com/local/ci_12872249

If you choose to read the comments section, though, bear in mind that we have quite a few resident losers who just like to flame and stir up trouble.  Best to simply ignore them.

14th Annual (2009) / Wobble wheels the obstacle course!
« on: July 20, 2009, 09:51:00 am »
In case you left early or missed it during teardown, I took Wobble out onto the dirt and small rocks course--fully aired up and connected, mind you!  Ted spotted me.  Outside of a bit of wheel spinning here and there, I didn't need too much help.  What did I think of my first time on the course?

IT WAS AWESOME!!!

And, of course, anything worth doing is worth doing twice, so I went around a second time!  ;D

PA Jeeps Membership / June vs. July
« on: June 02, 2009, 09:56:12 pm »
Can someone tell me if I understand this correctly?  If you join by June, your membership is only good until Dec. 2009, but if you join in July, it's good until 2010?  Just wondering if I should wait another month or not.

Technical Advice and Questions / How dangerous is it?
« on: November 08, 2008, 04:37:46 pm »
I just noticed that one of the bands that goes around my XJ's leaf springs is split open at the top on both sides of the vehicle (The middle set).  It's a little gap but it's not falling off or anything.  Do you think that it's OK to ignore it?

Technical Advice and Questions / Tow Points
« on: September 12, 2008, 10:12:13 am »
Can anybody tell me what to do for tow points in the front of a stock XJ?  Getting a hitch receiver with a D ring seems like a good solution for the rear, but do I need to get a whole new bumper up front or what?  I'm afraid that Rausch Creek won't have me if I go up there without any.  :P
