Can't say we did not try.  As we got gas at the Ravine exit I saw fluid running out of the front of the Jeep. The water pump did not want to go to Rausch. We met up with Bob as planned for the end of the safety meeting and then headed South. Without hitting the trails to do more dammage to the pump we made it home in one shot. At leased we still know how to get to RC.

Were thinking of comming up. I'm getting parts and should have the Jeep back together in time. I was also thinking about being a bit late (don't wait for us)  in the morning so I dont have to get the kids up at 5am.

Technical Advice and Questions / Re: 258 pulse air system
« on: April 26, 2013, 08:22:47 pm »
If you took the BBD off I'm not sure how your going to do the Nutter bypass. Most of what I remember it's to bypass the stepper motors on the back of the Carter BBD carb, wich you took off ::) Or are you going to take out the computer all together?  As for the the pulse air system, to remove parts that let dirty exhaust into a clean intake and make the engine run bad, don't sound like a bad thing to take off to me.

Technical Advice and Questions / Re: wheels/tires please help
« on: April 26, 2013, 08:02:11 pm »
Tires should not go over two inches over the rim width. That being said I run a 12.5 tire on a 8 inch rim its only a half inch but it is over what is recommend. As for the back space on a JK, sorry IDK about the new stuff.

General Discussion / Re: Jeeper needs some help this weekend...

I was informed by many others that i need to make sure that i use the outer shaft so that while driving it, the axle hub doesn't seperate because the outer axle is one thing that helps keep everything together (with the axle nut).

Correct,, Do not run a TJ, XJ, and most YJ dana 30s without the stub shafts and nuts in place. It is called a death nut for two reasons one is its tight the other is what could happen if you run without it.

Technical Advice and Questions / Re: Overheating Issue
« on: September 09, 2012, 08:01:00 pm »
Start by getting a new rad cap (Stant Lever-locks are great) and a new T-stat (get what temp came standard w/ your Jeep). Then take the radiator out and preasure wash it to get off all the mud and bugs. inspect it flush out the insides with a garden hose (hot water if you can) same with the block overflow bottle and heater core. Replace the hoses if they need it. put every thing back together and "burp" the system with a new 50/50 mix of the green stuff. The "burping" part has to be done correctly, I can go into detail if you need. The purchase of the cap and T-stat will not be a waste they are cheap and should be replaced every few years any how.

Good luck, let us know how you make out.

The real story is the YJ that rolled was part of the first Topless for TATAs trail cutting crew. RC staff took us to the trail the same route the YJ had gone. The YJ had no reason to suspect taking a differant route to access the trail since this is how it was originally accessed. Long story short they didnt see the hole until it was too late..... RC quickly flagged that area off so there would be no repeat.

So noted, I will gladly modify my previous post.

He was not on the trail, he was on a access area used for trail cutting and found a hole.
They were lucky it was not filled with water, a mine shaft or a sink hole, probably would have been recovering more than just a Jeep. As we started onto "S" passing the group I knew somthing was not right. Jeeps in the brush, lady running with a first aid kit, so I stopped to check on them. A few scraches was the worst injury (that was the good thing). Next, onto the Jeep, lets just say they needed a bit more gear and books than what they had for a safe recovery.
