Woo Hoo!  ;D

The 7th Annual Mason Dixon Willys Jeep Gathering was a huge success!

We tripled the number of military vehicles this year and were once again blessed with sunshine for the Gettysburg run and the show!

Special thanks to Jenn (Brrrrrr!) Watson and Dave Watson! I couldn't have done it without you!

See the photos on FaceBook and all of the Jeep forums... or the front page of today's Carroll County Times!

UPDATE:

Yes, the Gettysburg National Military Park is closed due to the Government Shutdown. If our elected officials cannot get their act together by the time we do the "Battlefield Tour," I have a Plan B! We will meet at the same time and place on Oct. 26th. We will follow our guide into Gettysburg, where we will park our Jeeps and go on a walking tour of sites significant to the battle in July 1863.

You know us Jeep folk are always prepared! All we need is some sunshine!  ;)

Yep, that was a fun day on the farm! Thanks to Fred Williams, Tech editor at Petersen's 4WD magazine and Craig Jaros at Quadratec.

Fred and his video guy came in from California to film this bi-weekly episode of Dirt Every Day on Fred's family farm near Harrisburg. The old guy driving my 3A is Fred's Dad, the farmer. He was happy as a kid in a candy shop when I told him he could drive it. He offered to let me come over and drive the combine whenever I want... somehow, that doesn't sound like fun!

It was the first time I used the pto to run anything. I was impressed at how much power Old Yeller has with the pto running!  ;D

General Discussion / Re: What did you do to your Jeep today?
« on: September 22, 2012, 08:03:19 pm »
Put the canvas top back on Old Yeller today and went for a 1st day of Autumn cruise! Found a small gas station outside of Littlestown selling gas without ethanol! I tanked up.  ;D

These vintage engines do not like ethanol. It burns too hot and can ruin the valves. >:D

New software and new computer that didn't cooperate with my site-builder program... yeesh! >:(

Thanks for the bump Jenn!

The actual "show" portion of the Gathering will be Sunday Oct. 21, 2012 from 10 am - 3 pm.

On Saturday the 20th, we will again have a guided Gettysburg Battlefield run open to ALL Jeeps. We will meet at Noon at the Gettysburg Outlet Shoppes theater complex parking lot. The outlets are at the US 15 and Pa 97 intersection. If anyone doesn't want to do the 3+ hour Battlefield run, you can leave them at the outlets to shop, dine, or catch a movie!

Y'all will like the shirt this year.... and it isn't pink!  ;)

Updates to come...

If you are interested in volunteering this year, PM or e-mail me. Adult volunteers will get a "STAFF" shirt!  ;D

jeepcj7304:
Perhaps you might want to join PA Jeeps and help volunteer at the show next year?

That would be especially awesome, since you are local. Most of the volunteers travel quite a way, take days off from work, and camp on site in order to provide you with an awesome weekend. If you experienced all of the (totally volunteer) work first hand that takes place before, during, and after the event to make it a success, perhaps you would not be so fast to complain about a 15 minute inconvenience.

As Rick stated, any missing numbers were "re-called."

Yes, I am challenging you to join PA Jeeps!  ;D
