Trust me Mike, I know when to ask for help and will do so as Jenn can verify - right Jenn?     This is just my first time doing blacks.  I'm also gonna be in a Jeep (TJ) that I've never taken out before.  I'm used to wheeling in my JK Unlimited (sold it), so the footprint I'm used to is very different.  So yeah, I'm probably being a bit more paranoid than usual.  LOL

Jenn - you know I always feel safe with you in the lead.    I actually think he was doing reds when he rolled.  And besides, you know me - always second guessing myself!  I'm really looking forward to it.  Really!

Just had the Rock Krawler HD Steering Kit installed today (beefier tie rod, etc.).  Was telling the guys where/what I was doing Saturday and one chimed in and said "Oh, I rolled my Jeep there".     Okay, so NOW I'm REALLY getting cold feet!  I've spent the last 2 weeks installing diff skids, rear corner guards, new bumpers/winch, fender flares, rock sliders, etc (all by myself!).  I think the Jeep is ready . . . . me on the other hand . . . .

As they say - it's 40% Jeep and 60% driver.  Guess I'll only be making it 40% of the way!     Seriously, sorry we're gonna miss seeing you out there Rick.

As far as I know, I'm in.  Great way to test out the new rig.  I won't be wearing any 'big girl panties', but am thinking about wearing some diapers instead - I've never done black before.

When can we go on another golf cart ride?  Only wish I had a video of that - hilarious!

Here's a link to more pics of the show.  Pictures just don't do it justice - if you were there you know what I mean.  Another great weekend & event.  Hats off to all for your hard work making this show what it is - the BEST.  So much time and effort goes into this show long before the actual event - and so much more is done after the crowds have left.  We are very much in debt to those who make this happen.  The words "Thank You" just aren't enough it seems.

Couldn't have asked for better weather!  Only hitch was some of the "Blue" marked trails appeared to be more on the "Black" side.  Talk about coming around the corner and saying "Oh Sh&$!!!"     Seriously, what a great day . . . . great folks . . . . and yes - hats off to our terrific guide Jenn.   Oh and yes - my big ole yellow 4-dr Rubicon (aka "The Short Bus") did great on the trails . . . well . . . on those it would fit on!  A big thanks to all the spotters that got me outta that tight spot!

Here's the pics from today - there's two pics that are NOT Jeep related.  My 3-ish hour drive home to VA turned into more of a 5 hour drive.  Feel sorry for the guy in that classic ride that got smashed.

Technical Advice and Questions / I need re-gearing advice!

I have a 2011 JK Unlimited Rubicon.  Currently running 35's on 17" rims with a 4" MOPAR lift.  Lost of other weight added to it: bumpers, skids, etc.  It's an AUTOMATIC and runs 90% of it's time in Northern VA traffic/highways, with as much trail riding as I can squeeze in.  My question is:

4:88 or 5:13???     I've yet to get warm fuzzies over which one makes the most sense for me.  I hear I might be running too high an RPM with the 5:13, but then I hear just the opposite.  One day - WAY DOWN THE ROAD, I might go to 37" tires but no plans to do so anytime soon . . . well, maybe.  I welcome advice and experiences.  Also, part of the re-gearing is going to include the Superior Axle & Gear Ring & Pinion Overhaul Kit.

And please - don't say I shoulda waited for the 2012 . . . it's too late now.
