General Discussion / Willys on the Beach...
« on: May 10, 2012, 04:52:10 pm »
Just got back from Topsail Island where I met up with my friend Bob. I helped with his CJ3A resto project a few years back.He painted his a little darker than mine, but they are still almost twins! Anyways, I thought I better post a few pics here for folks who think Old Yeller is just a garage Queen!  ;)

Nuthin' better than a yellow Jeep!  ;D

« on: July 21, 2011, 11:14:19 am »
I was posting some of my Bantam project photos in the "What did you do to your Jeep today" section. Had a lot of comments, questions, and compliments at the PA Jeeps Show, so I am doing a full thread in this section for reference. Shoot me a PM or post here if you have any questions!

It's great to see a number of folks restoring the old military and civilian Jeep trailers!  ;D

Technical Advice and Questions / Custom / stainless exhaust shop?
« on: June 18, 2009, 03:24:41 pm »
Anyone know of a reputable shop that does custom exhaust (stainless steel) work in the Westminster, MD or the Littlestown - Hanover, PA area?

"Big Daddy" Todd Harris installed my stainless steel cat-back system on the YJ. He put a very loud stainless muffler on and said I could bring it back if I really didn't like it. Well, unfortunately Todd was killed in an auto accident about a year ago. I can't stand the annoying muffler anymore... sounds like I should be driving one of those dropped rice burners! >:(

Technical Advice and Questions / Tire Question
« on: March 28, 2009, 02:18:46 pm »
I need to get a new set of 31x10.50x15 tires for the YJ.

I was looking at the Firestone Destination M/T. Has anyone had any experience with these tires? They have a similar tread pattern to the BFG Mud Terrains and the Goodyear MTR's.

Feedback on these tires will be most appreciated!

Vendor Feedback / Experiences / Jeep Parts Suppliers
« on: March 24, 2008, 09:02:25 pm »
Great idea Rick! ;)

I'll be happy to list some of my favorite parts suppliers to get this section moving along!

QUADRATEC: www.quadratec.com
I have purchased numerous new parts for my YJ from Quadratec over the past 7 years. All of my experiences have been positive. The customer service folks are very helpful and most of them are Jeep folks. Delivery is usually very fast. I even had to return a part that the manufacturer packaged wrong a couple of weeks ago and customer service had the correct part to me in 2 days!

kNOw Where 2 Jeep: www.knowwhere2jeep.com
I purchased my YJ lift kit and various other items for the YJ and JK from Eric at kNOw where 2 Jeep. Great personal customer service and fast delivery! Very competitive pricing.

Walck's 4WD: www.walcks4wd.com
I've purchased numerous parts for my Willys Jeep restoration from Walck's. They make awesome repro wiring harnesses and stock some hard to find parts for the early Willys Jeeps. Knowledgeable staff and fast delivery!

All 3 of the suppliers listed above are located here in Pennsylvania, the first 2 support our Annual Jeep Show!  ;D

Technical Advice and Questions / YJ U-Bolt Skids?
« on: February 21, 2008, 09:02:29 pm »
I'm tired of smashing and bending the U-bolts on my '93 YJ! >:(

Has anyone here installed U-bolt skid plates on their YJ? If so, what brand did you buy and how difficult was the install?

I've seen photos of them, but have never seen them on a YJ before.

Thanks for your help! ;)
