17th Annual (2012) / Pics of Jeeps and Peeps from the Show
« on: July 24, 2012, 05:46:41 pm »
Here's a link to more pics of the show.  Pictures just don't do it justice - if you were there you know what I mean.  Another great weekend & event.  Hats off to all for your hard work making this show what it is - the BEST.  So much time and effort goes into this show long before the actual event - and so much more is done after the crowds have left.  We are very much in debt to those who make this happen.  The words "Thank You" just aren't enough it seems.

Technical Advice and Questions / I need re-gearing advice!
« on: June 20, 2012, 11:26:00 am »
I have a 2011 JK Unlimited Rubicon.  Currently running 35's on 17" rims with a 4" MOPAR lift.  Lost of other weight added to it: bumpers, skids, etc.  It's an AUTOMATIC and runs 90% of it's time in Northern VA traffic/highways, with as much trail riding as I can squeeze in.  My question is:

4:88 or 5:13???   ???  I've yet to get warm fuzzies over which one makes the most sense for me.  I hear I might be running too high an RPM with the 5:13, but then I hear just the opposite.  One day - WAY DOWN THE ROAD, I might go to 37" tires but no plans to do so anytime soon . . . well, maybe.  I welcome advice and experiences.  Also, part of the re-gearing is going to include the Superior Axle & Gear Ring & Pinion Overhaul Kit.

And please - don't say I shoulda waited for the 2012 . . . it's too late now.   >:(

Technical Advice and Questions / Does lifting void factory warranty?
« on: August 14, 2011, 01:18:20 pm »
I'm sure this has been asked before but . . .

I just added a 2011 JK Unlimited Rubicon to my Jeep family.   :)   I wanna put a 4" lift on it, then 35's, bumpers, winch, etc.  Kinda wanna make it more bad a$$ so to speak - but it's still gonna be my daily driver so I'm not going over the top.  I heard lifting could void some or all of the factory warranty.  I've been unable to get a straight-forward answer on this, even from my local Jeep dealer.  Any advice?

Introductions / Greetings All!
« on: July 22, 2011, 06:40:23 pm »
Just attended my 1st PA Show last week (I was the '79 Silver Ann CJ-5).  Nervous as all get out being there with all the 'Big Dogs'.  I can't thank everyone enough for making me (and my Jeep) feel welcome and part of the community.  What a great club - I've since joined! I'm now looking for a 'trail jeep' with all the fixins' so I'll be studying the forum for tips and advice.  Glad to be part of this great & friendly group of people!
