Title: Looking for a Weld Shop
Post by: s14y3r on July 22, 2013, 05:44:26 pm
I have some d-ring brackets that I need to have welded onto my jeep.  I having some slight trouble locating a shop that is willing to weld the brackets onto the frame.  I am in between Harrisburg and York.  Any help pointing me toward a shop is greatly appreciated.

That's because "D-Ring brackets are NOT supposed to be welded into the frame. That's completely incorrect. Get a quality constructed bumper that has the "D-Ring" brackets welded inside and out.

Welding them into the frame is asking for trouble...LIABILITY...LIABILTY...LIABILITY as all I can say.

The frame is not a stock frame anymore.

I am having trouble getting the pic to go post, I keep getting an error saying the upload folder is full.  Odd I haven't posted any pics on any thread... ???

The frame is square tube now, three link front leaf spring rear, full width axles, 5.0L with the engine bay caged.

Thanks I appreciate it.  I was able to get into the hobby shop yesterday on the Naval base to use their 220 welder.  I will probably have more to burn in down the road that my 110 welder won't be able to get.  Thanks to all with the help too.  Now I have a couple little nice to have things to do and hopefully be able to find a used 35x12.5 for a full size spare.  On a positive note next weekend will be the shake down trip up at Rausch Creek.
