I attended the Main Jambo event at Big Dogs this weekend with Jim and Jonni from EVOR. It was one a couple 3 day wheeling events they do each year down there. For the most part, I thought it was a great event and would love to go back and get some other club members to go down there and represent. There were about 250 vehicles registererd and there were some awesome trails! The camp ground was huge and in a beautiful setting next to a couple small lakes. It was completely overtaken by Jeeps for the weekend. Friday night watching the action in the mud pits was a blast and Saturday night was a big social gathering with a huge bonfire and buggy rock crawl demonstrations. Overall the trails, the facility, the people, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

I had met John Hunt, (the guy in charge of Big Dogs) at our show this summer and checked in with him down there. He had great things to say about our club and our show, and in fact he mentioned what a great show we have during his announcements in the morning driver meetings! It really would be great if we could make more of a club showing down there sometime.

The one negative thing we noticed was that they did not use tail gunners on their guided rides. This caused problems a couple times. At one point we lost the back half of our group, and at other times the guide was too far ahead to help spot folks in the back.

Here are a few of the pictures I took this weekend:
