The toy run is fast approaching! Saturday November 3.....
I need all the help I can get to block exits for the YCHDOA group to make it to the Hershey's Children's Hospital safely. I hope you all can show up in force to help this great group of bikers deliver all the goodies to the children and their families. You are not required to have a Jeep or ride all the way to the hospital, just block the on ramps on the routes to the Hospital. No worries from about breaking laws all the local and state officers in the area know we do this every year. Thanks for all your help. Bikes leave the parking lot at 1 and its an awesome site!
www.YCHDOA.com
Be safe and watch for motorcycles!
Please post if you can make it. Meet at the Sam's Club parking lot on Market St in York at noon.

Do you have to be a pa jeeps member to participate? I am interested but I am not a member yet.
-
Count on both of us, 2 exits.
We can do the same ones we usually do, Fishing Creek n Reesers Summit. If I have to work Colleen will pickup the signs n we'll stage @ the exits.
-
No Greg you don't have to be a member to help out. But I need to know I can count you in for sure as there are many exits to cover.I would greatly appreciate your help, bring a friend with another Jeep if you can. On some exits I need two Jeeps. Thanks again and hope to meet you.

**************THERE HAD BEEN A CHANGE IN THE ROUTE THIS YEAR**************
This is just been brought to my attention yesterday that they decided on a new route. This is it :
Toy Run traffic control
Two jeeps tailgate on RT 30
RT 24 on-ramp
RT 30 Hellam on-ramp
RT 30 Wrightsville on-ramp
Stop light getting onto RT 441 – at least two people
RT 30 RT 441 on-ramp (immediately after crossing bridge)
RT 30 exit ramp onto RT 441 – at least two people
RT 23 intersection with RT 441 traffic light – 3 people
RT 772 intersection with RT 441 traffic light – 3 people
RT 743 intersection with RT 441 traffic light – 3 people
Beatty’s Toll Gate Road intersection with RT 441 traffic light – 3 people
RT 230 intersection – drop two riders (this can be done directly from riders on the run)
Roush Road intersection – drop two riders (ditto above)
Please let me know if you can still attend. I need to make sure the Christian Biker Association has enough people to cover these spots with us. Maybe more of you can help out. Remember you don't have to come all the way to the Hospital you may cut out and go about your day.
Directions from Sam’s Club, East York, to Hershey Medical Center.
Here are the directions from the Sam's Club:
Depart Sam’s Club on Industrial Highway to Memory Lane – turn right.
Go to RT 30 on ramp and enter going east.
Follow RT 30 to RT 441 off ramp. (There are four on-ramps that we need to cover)
(There is a traffic light when entering onto RT 441 – we will need to cover it)
Follow RT 441 for 16 and 2/10 miles to Geyers Church Road (shortly after passing TMI, there is also a sign for Sunset GC) – turn right. (There are four traffic lights on the early portion of RT 441. We will need coverage at each.)
Follow Geyers Church Road to stop sign at RT 230 – turn left. (During transit we will encounter one 4 way stop sign. At RT 230, it would be my intention to drop two riders to help with traffic control).
Go 8/10 mile on RT 230 to RT 341 (Colebrook Road) – turn right.
Follow Colebrook Road for 2 and 7/10 mile to Steinruck Road (immediately after crossing the PA Turnpike) – turn left.
Steinruck will become Sandhill Road – follow to “T” intersection – turn left and then take immediate right onto Bullfrog Valley Road. (We will encounter two 4 way stops during transit. At the “T” intersection, I would plan on dropping two riders to assist.)
Follow Bullfrog Valley Road to traffic light – turn right into hospital.

**************THERE HAD BEEN A CHANGE IN THE ROUTE THIS
Please let me know if you can still attend.
I cannot attend with new location this year due to work location and time. Hopefully next year.
-
Great turn out! Didn't get the count on the bikes but we had 15 Jeeps and one truck (Thanks Lockers!) We had 2 people that were not even members help out in their Jeeps! Everything went well and moved along at a slow pace, thank goodness because they changed part of the route again. We had one small accident where two bikes hit each other but no one was hurt and everyone moved on, in the beginning up on rt 30. Then towards the end of the ride a deer ran out in front of Danes Jeep, it was close man! (Thank God it didn't run out in front of any bikes )
THANKS to EVERYONE that helped out today!!!! A special THANKS all the Officers on the bikes and the Officers that helped in each township ! THANKS to the Christian Biker Association as well for covering the exits further up.
Here is a pic at the Hospital courtesy of Dane!(thanks) Not all the bikes are parked in this lot this time so it doesn't show how many more there were....

YCHDOA raised $16,700 plus thousands of dollars in many different gift cards and a trailer full of toys. PA Jeeps also donated $650 plus paid the entrance fee for the Jeeps that showed up to help today. The money raised helps the families that stay on site with their child while in the hospital and family lunch/dinner days in the hospital cafeteria.
-
Hey Jenn, We had a great time today at the run. We love Jeeps and Harley's so what better way to spend the afternoon!!!! :D. Hopefully I will see you all during the all blacks run! Dave Lippert
-
Hey Jack,
Sorry, I was supposed to call you with a heads up....My "BAD"
-
Two representatives from YCHDOA came to my store and bought quite a few gift cards for the Children's Hospital. I was surprised, yet overjoyed to see them!
-
I received a nice Thank You card in the mail today, from the Hershey Childrens Hospital, Thanking PA Jeeps for their generous donation and help with the Toy Run!
Thanks again to those who came and helped out!
