Title: Ok....2004 Grand Cherokee....fuel gauge...
Post by: j.haffly on December 19, 2011, 09:37:26 pm
The fuel gauge reads empty when it's full....it was jumping around the other day but tonight it just stayed at empty....

Just a fuse or is it something bigger?

Jim

PS...picking up a manual for it in the next day or so

Drop the tank bud and replace the bad "float" in the tank.
It's a Jeep...Just Empty Every Pocket  :D A little at a time as it ages.

jim unplug the fuel sender at the fuel tank and turn key on the gauge should go to full or passed. If it does the sending unit is bad and you gotta drop the tank. If the gauge stays at empty the gauge is faulty.
