Title: Jeep Show - TJ Lift
Post by: peter84 on July 19, 2010, 05:12:31 pm
Just wanted to put in writing my thanks to all who helped me over the weekend with the installation of a Zone Offroad Products 4" lift kit on my (previously) stock TJ.

Thanks to; Charlie, Rick and Dave for offering me the opportunity, to Jack for the loan of some air tools, to Dave and Dave for wrenching and words of wisdom, to Norm for the photos, to Collie and Jenn for the Band Aids and water and to the many other members who stopped by and offered me words of encouragement.

I truely believe that this installation shows the strength of this club and it's members. First, that Zone Offroad Products had the faith and confidence in the PA Jeeps club to accomplish this project, and second that the membership were all behind me urging me on. Thank you.

glad to see it went to someone deserving, and youve earned your way into the club of real jeepers, any one can buy a built jeep but to do it yourself is a whole new level. didnt get to see the finished product but im sure its awesome.

Peter,

I know that the Zone Reps were wanting you to install it yourself and from what I saw you certainly can. But in that heat it's difficult for anyone. You were doing well on your own but I had to insist that you were provide another set of hands. Dave was eager to assist and now you can save for 33's without having to worry about purchasing a lift.

Peter,
It was my pleasure to assist you with your project, To say the environment to do such a task was challenging ,would be an understatement. Congratulations on your upgrade. I want everyone to know you did 99% of the work and all Dave H. and myself did was provide an extra set of hands and eyes.  It always put a smile on my face when someone who understands the true spirit of this sport receives an award like this.

Congratulations again, Peter--it couldn't have gone to a more deserving guy!  You'll have to test it out soon and let us know how it rides!

Thanks also to Norm for the photos, as I wasn't able to see the installation taking place.

I must agree that a more deserving and nicer person could not be found, Peter you earned every last penny and inch of that lift. Great job! ;D

Dave and Dave, I must also thank you for lending a hand towards Peters success.

Thanks again to Dave DeVormer from Zone Offroad for making this opportunity possible.

Charlie

PS...It's funny that I can't pick up the slightest British accent in your post Peter.  ;) That Zone decal looks good on your bonnet.

I agree - couldn't happen to a nicer guy.  :)

Peter - you were pertty near unstoppable stock, I can't wait to see what you can do now!!  :o

I enjoyed stopping by to watch the progress and getting to see how things go together under there. I learned a lot. If I ever get a free minute I'll post some pictures.

PS...It's funny that I can't pick up the slightest British accent in your post Peter.  ;)

I say Chawwwwles, Peetah, being a Gentleman, would never point out your gross misrepresentation of his Nationality, but I, being the crude “Colonist” that I am, must set the record straight!
My Good Man Mr. Caddick, is KNOT British, but an Englissssshman, hence your inability to distinguish a "British" accent.

Charlie,
Glad to see that you know my Jeep has a bonnet, it also has 30" tyres too - although I am looking to change those those tyres for 33x10.5/15.

Jack, I sit corrected. ;D

OK... I was wrong... well kinda. Peter was born in England, hence an Englishmon, but he was also a British Subject so his accent could be considered British (I'm thinking it's still English, but what does a guy who grew up in the Swamps of Southern Maryland know...). Sooooo we were both right, kinda. But now that he's been here for 15 years, he's starting to get some Americanism's into his speech, which is OK 'cause Peetah and his family are Citizens of this here U.S. of A.

Although everyone who has ever met them knew this (but I guess that makes it Official), They're one of U.S.  ;D

I say Old Chap, Good Job... er, I mean, Cool Beans.

Update - finally got some 33" tyres, which then meant; new wheels for the extra back spacing to clear the springs, new fender flares to keep it legal and a new tire carrier. This is sounding like a true JEEP (just empty every pocket) story!

Outstanding Peter!!!  ;D   I knew you would finish the job.

Post a large picture please.  ;)

OH, Americans spell tyres like this.......tires.  8)

Although you did post 33" and not 838.2 millimeters.  ::) Are your going to do any modifications under the bonnet?

Charlie, or is that the regal Charles???
Not sure modifications under the bonnet are next, I think that I will be looking for skidplates at the Jeep show.
