Safety / On & Off The Trail / winch and hi-lift jack 101
« on: October 14, 2009, 06:19:11 am »
Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone new of any clubs that have a day that they spend on winching and recovery technics. I have both the winch and jack and have been reading a lot but would rather go out and do these things hands on with fellow jeepers that have the knowledge to show newbies like myself the proper way to winch and self recovery.

As anyone from the forum ever done a day of recovery 101 or is it possible to spend a day and have something like this for new jeep owners who are interested in self recovery and learning the proper way to winch.

Thanks

Steve :) :)

just maybe I wasn't with the right guys when I went up to rc mybe sometime in the near future I can ride up with you guys if that would be ok? I guess it does matter what kind of driver and the knowledge that you have when you start wheeling so you don't break a lot of stuff I belive I have a lot to learn. I was wondering are you taking to members at your dec meeting on Sunday?

thanks

Technical Advice and Questions / rough country or rusty's lift kit?
« on: December 11, 2008, 02:11:05 pm »
Hi,

I'm about reasy to pull the trigger on a lift kit and wanted opions on what lift kit to get most of the time I'll be riding the streets but when I want to go off road the 08 rubicon would be ready to go the to that I mentioned are in my budget plus 35 inch tires to go with the lift. I haven't reas much on this forum about rough country 2.5 lift or rusty's 3.5 lift kit can anyone shed some light on these lifts and how is MT Zion off road are they good to deal with I no that they install rough country and Adams Jeep in Maryland installs rusty's.

I look forward to hearing good advice since I'm just a beginner at this I did take my rubicon up at RC last Saturday and it did fine after that I new if I wanted to do more I would need to put a lift kit on with bigger tires other then that I belive that is it.

thanks

Technical Advice and Questions / Re: want to put lift on 08 rubicon
« on: November 22, 2008, 06:05:13 am »
HI,

something about myself I have no experience at all 4 wheeling so I want to learn all that I can about the hobbie I do agree about doing the green's and blues at rc. I have been doing some research and from what other drivers have been saying go out with a group and learn the ins and outs so that is what I will do.

I would like to no when your next trip will be to rc and can I join the club if you are still taking applications for new members what kind of tools do you recommend?

thanks for all the info so far.

Technical Advice and Questions / want to put lift on 08 rubicon
« on: November 21, 2008, 08:55:33 am »
Hi evberyone,

I have a new 08 rubicon and looking to put a 3 or 3.25 lift kit on with 35 inch tires does anyone have any suggestions on what lift kit to buy and tires. I also looking for a good offroad shop to do the work with the lift and tires or is there someone out there who could do it for a reasonable
price and looking to put skid plates on as well. I'm new to this and want to learn as much as I can about 4wheeling and working on my jeep so you will be hearing a lot from me every suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
