Here's some pictures (actually a lot) from  the trip this weekend:  http://s1136.photobucket.com/albums/n484/bake4me1/PA%20Fall%20Jeep%20Ride%202011/

This was my first trip out with the club.  I had a blast!  Thank you all for making me feel welcome, and especially watching my back on the trail!

Good food, good Jeeps, and GREAT people made it a weekend to remember.  Well worth the 5 hour drive up (and then back home)!  :D  I can't wait to do it again!

Technical Advice and Questions / Re: Does lifting void factory warranty?
« on: October 12, 2011, 06:18:48 pm »
Wanted to give an update:  The Jeep dealer in my area (Fairfax, VA) did the lift for me in addition to a bunch of other stuff.  Their word to me was that as long as I lifted using Mopar/Chrysler parts I still would maintain my factory warranty.  All the other lifts out there (SkyJacker, etc.) are considered "after-market" parts.  Take this for what it's worth, but my delimma is resolved.  I did a 4" lift (Mopar), dealer installed, and still have warranty (in writing).  Of course I had to pay dealer labor rates  :-[  !

Thanks all for the tips.  Guess I shoulda been more clear - this is my first trail ride with a club/group of people.  Don't get me wrong, it has been a while and my first time out in the JK.  Caution is my middle name.   ;D

I'm open for suggestions on what grub you want me to bring for Sunday breakfast, etc.  See everyone in a few weeks!

I'm going!  My first trail ride - so go easy guys (and gals) on me!  I just installed a Mopar 4" lift, Pro Comp rims, 35" MT tires, Rock Hard bumpers, Warn Powerplant winch, skid plates, etc, on my 2011 JK Unlimited - yeah, Quadratec LOVES me . . . cha - ching!  Now if there was only a kit out there to help the driver!  Looking forward to the trip AND learning from you seasoned drivers.

I know that dealer - thanks for saving me the trip!  Might try the dealer in Fairfax - or just have my Jeep buddy do it for me.

Technical Advice and Questions / Does lifting void factory warranty?
« on: August 14, 2011, 01:18:20 pm »
I'm sure this has been asked before but . . .

I just added a 2011 JK Unlimited Rubicon to my Jeep family.   :)   I wanna put a 4" lift on it, then 35's, bumpers, winch, etc.  Kinda wanna make it more bad a$$ so to speak - but it's still gonna be my daily driver so I'm not going over the top.  I heard lifting could void some or all of the factory warranty.  I've been unable to get a straight-forward answer on this, even from my local Jeep dealer.  Any advice?

Okay . . . who's the professional photographer??!!!  Those are some FABULOUS pictures!  I need to do something like this - looks like a great way to get back and appreciate nature and all it's beauty.  Of course having a sweet ride that gets you there really helps!  Thanks for sharing this!

Rick is right - I got bit bad last week!    :D  On my way to pick up my 2011 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (Detonator Yellow)!  The puppy is loaded.  NOW comes the fun part of lifting it (4"), 35's, winch, etc, etc, etc!  Buying it was the easy part . . . . modifying is another story!  I mean - I know how I want it to look and perform, it's just chosing the right add-ons that scares the S#!$ outta me.  Needless to say, I am open to advice!

Hmmm, maybe I'll have two Jeeps to bring to the show next year!

Just attended my 1st PA Show last week (I was the '79 Silver Ann CJ-5).  Nervous as all get out being there with all the 'Big Dogs'.  I can't thank everyone enough for making me (and my Jeep) feel welcome and part of the community.  What a great club - I've since joined! I'm now looking for a 'trail jeep' with all the fixins' so I'll be studying the forum for tips and advice.  Glad to be part of this great & friendly group of people!
