Hi Sparky09 , you might want to advise us what you have in store for your CJ-7 , Show , trails , everyday driver ,etc .
Trees chew up fiberglass and dent steel , rollbars should be mounted to the frame with fiberglass bodies, fiberglass is easy to repair .
Each have pros & cons . I will also be interested in what this subject brings to light . A big question to ask yourself , Is your auto insurance covering
your %#& if it is wrapped in fiberglass ! ( UP DATED PROPER COVERAGE ! )

« on: August 04, 2012, 01:52:49 am »

I don't see why not Bob. BUT... I'll have to go back n read the range rules again, but I do know u can't shoot Jacketed in the indoor range, but that has to do with the backstop. The steel plates, at the pistol range I was refering to are about 3/8" or thicker as are the reactives on Range #1. I don't shoot Jacketed either, but rather Plated or Lead. I do see that most of the steels u guys use for SASS are pretty thin in comparison and you guys shoot at them a little closer then IDPA shooters do, at least, for the most part. Do you shoot up @ WSSA and do ya cast ur own bullets? I don't, I get mine from commercial guys, Bayou Bullets and precision bullets. The prices are good and the quality is high.

   Jack

Jack as I read WSSA's "RANGE RULES APPLYING TO THE INDOOR RANGE (INCLUDING AND IN ADDITION TO THOSE ABOVE)"
Section 7. is not clear to me, the part in question reads "ammunition constraint outlined in Section 2, Para 4, Part D shown above .
Where above ??? Your Range Rules Committee may want to look at this Section 7. it also states copper jacketed projectiles may be used on the indoor range , but not hollow points . I shoot at the Jefferson Rifle Club on Snyder Mill Rd. and cast my own bullets .
P.S. not a gamer.

If Hillbilly is talking about West Shore, Colleen n I shoot IDPA there so we could get 2 people in (for our Friends its only ONNNNNE DOLLLLAR...)  We do have to make are there's nothing going on the day we go. The 1st Sunday is an IDPA match n the pistol ranges are closed. The outdoor ranges open @ 08:00. Of course, nice n sunny Saturdays there's usually a good crowd, so a early Sunday morn is usually good. there's a good range with 2 racks of steel plates, that's a fun one.

    Jack

(tattoo) Jack ,
do you shoot steel plates with jacketed bullets or must you use ALL LEAD ? We must use all lead on steel . (S.A.S.S.) rules .

17th Annual (2012) / Re: 800+ photos from Saturday of the show
« on: July 24, 2012, 01:42:29 am »
I look forward to all the great pictures taken at the show around and about the grounds.
As club members work all the days of the show , some work days before and some days after, some are not even members, a lot of them do not get to see a lot of the Jeeps or people , they can't take the time because they are doing what they volunteered to do and some
do things they did not volunteer to do . As Jeep people we just get it done so all attending may have a SAFE and fun time  :D
OH and by the way Jeep voting #278 ,a red 1998 TJ wrangler , class 10 , unlimited (ADDICTION) don't forget to have your Jeep inspected
very soon , like before the end of July .  (photo # IMGP 2417  by geepster) saturday"s photos.
Going back to look at more photos ,
THANKS AGAIN geepster .

gpotts200 ; 1 ) air down , be sure you have an air gauge that reads down to 10 lbs. ( there will be air available on sight for you to air up if
need be to get home )
2 ) if you have a normal three peddle Jeep , keep your left foot off the left peddle , let the Jeep walk through .
                 3 ) watch your spotter .
4 ) be sure 4 wheel is locked in , and works .
                 5 ) watch your spotter .

rick ; it was on saturday or sunday , when it rolled over the crowd came running over like chickens when you throw corn out to feed them.
when it was over it looked like a scrap metal truck dumped a small load off his truck right there where i laid  .

gpotts200 ; if involved in a roll over (anywhere , even if your not the driver ) do not grab hold of the roll bar above your head !
YOU WILL DO JUST FINE .

You better hope real hard cus you would look real funny doing the Obstacle course sitting in a lawn chair !
Seatbelts are mandatory , don't know if seats are ?
Anyway I replaced front brake lining , master cyc. and top off road lights (trees branchs like things that stick up ) if I did anything else
I can't remember, these old Jeeps you can practically work on them in your sleep , well maybe half a sleep .
As with the top (upper off road lights ) I guess if you have to bust em it's better with a tree branch then the dirt and rocks that are under the tires  :( ! bin there done that .

OK SOYLENT BUT I WILL STICK WITH MY ANSWER AS GIVEN BY WHAT WAS ASKED .
THINKING QUESTION #1 MIGHT HAVE BEEN A TRICK QUESTION .
( THE "TUXEDO PARK " WAS A WHAT : CJ-2 , CJ-3A , OR CJ-5 ? )
USING THE JEEP TIMELINE , IN 1961 THE "TUXEDO PARK " WAS FIRST INTRODUCED AS A TRIM PACKAGE ON THE CJ-5 .
IN 1964 THE "TUXEDO PARK " WAS FIRST INTRODUCED AS IT'S OWN MODEL OF THE CJ-5A ,
                                            AND THE CJ-6A.
WITH YOUR  ANSWERS I HAD TO PICK FROM ,TWO ARE WRONG OF COURSE (CJ-2 & CJ-3A ) AN ONE (CJ-5 ) , WOULD HAVE THE CORRECT ANSWER BEING THE "TRIM PACKAGE"
CJ-5 = "TUXEDO PARK" WAS THE "TRIM PACKAGE" IN "1961"
CJ-5A = "TUXEDO PARK" WAS THE JEEP MODEL IN '1964'
WILL YOU RETHINK MY ANSWER FOR QUESTION #1 ?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH MY FRIEND , NO NEED TO BE STIKLER OFR PROPUR SPLEENING FOR ME ON COMMON WORDS , JUST WHEN IT COMES TO TECHNICAL STUFF THOUGH WOULD HELP KEEP ME STRIGHT .
AGAIN THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT ,
WILL LOOK FOR YOUR REPLY .

THE THIEVES KNOW YOU HAVE NO CASH LAYING AROUND .
A LITTLE SECRET I LEARNED LONG TIME AGO , A MAN WHOS TRUCK WAS BROKE IN TO TOLD ME  " MY TRUCK WON'T GET BROKE IN TO BECAUSE IT ALREADY LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN BROKE IN TO , STUFF THROWN ALL AROUND AND UNORGANIZED " .  MAYBE IT WORKS , MAYBE NOT , TIME WILL TELL . IT MAY NOT LOOK ORGANIZED , BUT I KNOW WHATS WHERE , I THINK .

ok , now i see the locking lugnut , they blend in nice , key won't slip off easily. i guess you know not to use an impact wrench with the key / nut ?

just a note .
if anybody takes anything ( like a trailer ) anywhere ( like to mt zion ) and it has to be locked up till thursday or friday before the show , be sure the person that is to pick it up on thursday or friday has a key ( or leave a key at the location ), like for the tung locks etc.
