Broken Wheel Studs
« on: March 13, 2009, 11:36:13 pm »
Has anyone ever replaced broken wheel studs? Is it a P.I.T.A.? Should I just take it somewhere and shell out the coin for someone else to do it? I never had to replace any lugs since I never broke any, so I'm in the dark on this topic. Ford 8.8 axle, by the way.

I havent replaced any in years but when I had to it was kinda easy I jsut pulled the rotor and hit the broken stud or studs out with a hammer. my would say just get enough to replace all of them and go from there. Just be careful when you are trying to get them out you dont miss and mess up your rotor or housing. hard direct hits should do it. as with anythign if yo have any doubts its best to have someone do it for you so one issue does not turn into many. Hope that helped just alittle.
