The club ride is scheduled for September 24 at RC. I cannot make it as i will be in Ocean City MD and the weekend before i will be at Bike Week in Ocean City.
1. Is there anyone that would like to guide for that Sat?
or.....
2. Does anyone want to wait till Oct. 1 and I will take an easy moderate day out?
Post here what everyone wants to do......

I was hoping to go out on the 24th. Now that we're closer to the date, is anyone else interested? Anyone available to guide? Anyone, anyone... ??? I can't go on Oct. 1st.
-
I can go the 24th, but if I lead we will get lost
-
Rebecca and I plan to be there on Saturday. I am prepared to guide and run blues and greens. Suggest we be at Rausch by 9am?
Regards, Peter
-
Ill be there and ready to run at 9
-
Me too. Thanks for leading us Peter! See you Sat!
-
I just may show up in the CJ

Diesel Jeeper:
Getting lost at RC is not necessarily a bad thing.
Takes you places that can turn out to be quite interesting and challenging.
-
Thanks for guiding this ride Peter.

What?! Rick might show up? I heard you had a Jeep, but I've never actually seen it. :P

The picture of Rick getting sum air (on the rock pile in the Comp Course), I remember that day, in fact, I might have taken that shot. If I'm not mistaken I believe that was the same day that Joe bent his Tie Rod going dn in the "Pit", got sideways and almost Flopped. That was a little scary, but other then that it was really a fun day, everyone did some serious 'wheeling that day.

i've seen it live in action and actually owe a couple of dings to it.
-
I might be coming as well. I just put the jeep back together so I will have to reload equipment tonight. Is anyone meeting at the diner?

Well, hopefully I'll see it in action tomorrow.

No diner for me, just heading straight up there.

OK. It looks as though we have Colli, Geoff and myself (Peter) as definite for tomorrow. With Rick and Shaun as possible, either post on here or call my cell (number is in the club directory) to let us know what you plan to do.
Judging by the recent weather expect plenty of water and mud on the trails, if it is like 3 weeks ago several of the green trails were more like blues due to the water- just adds to the fun!
Weather forecast shows some potential for showers and temps in the upper 60s.
-
Well I hate it but im out for tomorrow. Someone is coming to fix the motor in my boat. A shame to miss my first planned ride.
-
Shaun,
Not to worry, there will be plenty of other opportunities - watch the forum.

Well, it was a fun albeit short day. There was no rain, and just enough clouds to keep all the people away... except a group of 4X4 vans - yes I said vans. It was just the 3 of us: that British chap (Peter) led the pack and that guy in the loud Jeep (Geoff) was in the back with me in the middle. A rose between two thorns. ;)
Anyway, we started out easy on some green trails that were pretty washed out with all the rain. There was lots of water to wade through. I don't remember exactly which trails we went on but some of the highlights were the Firepit and the Quarry. We were having some fun in the Quarry... and then bad things happened. Geoff was doing a great job trying to tame a rocky and gravelly (is that a word?) hill when - SNAP!! Bye bye rear drive shaft! So I got to use my winch for the first time on the trails and pulled Geoff out of the bottom of the Quarry. Seemed like a good time to stop for lunch while Geoff removed his rear drive shaft. He also noticed some damage to his front control arms that didn't look good. So we called it a day and escorted Geoff as he limped out of the park and waddled his way back home to York in front wheel drive with bent control arms. ;D
It was still a fun day even if it was cut a little short. Thanks for leading us Peter, and I hope you made it the rest of the way home with no problems Geoff.
Here are the few pictures I took today:

I enjoyed both sets of photos--thanks for posting them! Sorry to hear that Geoff had carnage like that. At least you had a dry day to wheel and fix things!
Were those Quigley's 4x4 vans, by any chance?
-
Yes they were Quigley vans - it looked like a customer appreciation/sales day type event. We saw more 4x4 vans than Jeeps!

I should have left my driveshaft with the Quigley guys
I should be back in business by Friday, a new set of heavy duty adjustable control arms and rebalanced drive shaft, nothing a few dollar bills can't solve.

Thanks again Peter for taking a group out.
Geoff sorry you had issues with your Jeep again this time.
Nice pics everyone and hope to see you all out on the trail soon.
