Saturday May 18 will be a off pavement safety driving class at Rausch Creek held in the big garage at 8:30am. The class will be taught by our Safety Director Bob Bracken. Please make sure to pay your driver fee for the day as we will be wheeling after class.
It is also "Go Topless Day" so a bag lunch will be provided for participants in the class and we will have a club social followed by some light wheeling.
Please post if you will be able to make this event so I know how many lunches to bring.
Thanks

hey im a little more country than that, im from West Virginia, you know the real hillbillies.
the boys got some friends that wanted to go to rausch the first time and I figured it would be a good idea to teach them right the first time.lol.

Thanks for posting this up Jenn, I would hope to get a good group of wheelers out for this day ,so if everyone can keep posting up and spreading the word it would be great :) I am planning on having a short class to begin with just to cover basic first aid and trail safety then go over some hands on demonstrations of safety / proper wheeling practices that we adhere to as a club . The first class we did last fall was very informative with a great discussion section where the " newer wheelers" learned from some of our " veteran wheelers " : ;D I look forward to enhancing the clubs already stealer safety record !
-
I hope to make this, but I may have an afternoon conflict. Can anyone provide an estimate on how long the safety class will be?
-
Is there going to be anyone wheelin in the morning /all day wheelin?
Ted

The morning will be classroom/and demonstrations in the parking lot and we will be hitting the trails after lunch :))))))) Ryan if you can make it for any part of the day it would be great, Ted I am not aware of anyone wheelin all day
-
I'lll be there, and with Dad riding shotgun again.

If anyone would be interested in grabbing breakfast at the 83 Diner off the strinestown exit 28 on 83 northbound.we are going to be there from 6 till 7 and heading to Rausch at 7:00 , thanks Bob ;D

were out, the wife works and I got the grandson. hes just a wee bit small to be wheelin yet.

Were thinking of comming up. I'm getting parts and should have the Jeep back together in time. I was also thinking about being a bit late (don't wait for us) in the morning so I dont have to get the kids up at 5am.

Can't say we did not try. As we got gas at the Ravine exit I saw fluid running out of the front of the Jeep. The water pump did not want to go to Rausch. We met up with Bob as planned for the end of the safety meeting and then headed South. Without hitting the trails to do more dammage to the pump we made it home in one shot. At leased we still know how to get to RC.

Well Ted I really did appreciate you and the rest of your family coming up for the class. Your knowledge of winching and recovery operations far exceeds most wheelers!! I hope you were able to repair the water pump with no other problems :)

What a fun day we had. Bob and Ted did an excellent job on the safety and recovery classes. Great discussions amongst the 5 people that were there. In the afternoon we hit the trails. Did some greens and blues. Except for the overcasting sky all day it was a good day to be out and on the trials.
For those who missed or didn't have the opportunity to attend, it is a really good way to start off the spring and summer trail season.
