17th Annual (2012) / Re: Thanks!
« on: July 23, 2012, 04:17:22 pm »
Thanks to all of the PA Jeeps officers, Show Chairman, and my fellow PA Jeeps members! Everyone I talked to had a great time and the vendors were very happy to drive almost empty trucks home!

I had a great time working the "Day of" registration tent on Saturday with Carol, Charlotte, Rebecca, Connie, and Peter! We had them moving through with very few glitches.  ;)

Perhaps if what I brought home goes unclaimed. You'll have to come to Millersville, PA. and pick it up.
Unclaimed trophies are donated to another event that the PA Jeeps membership supports.

And the Mason -Dixon Willys Jeep Gathering appreciates the support of PA Jeeps and PA Jeeps' awesome volunteers!  ;)

Who's the hot chic you picked up to pose in your Jeep...?
Mandy, the Bartender. I didn't "pick" her. She asked me.  ;D

Rick: I highly recommend that you get a Willys and head to the beach... especially since you are now a free man. I am sure you could do more than just take photos like me!  ;)

Just got back from Topsail Island where I met up with my friend Bob. I helped with his CJ3A resto project a few years back.He painted his a little darker than mine, but they are still almost twins! Anyways, I thought I better post a few pics here for folks who think Old Yeller is just a garage Queen!  ;)

Nuthin' better than a yellow Jeep!  ;D

Thanks for the pics and compliments Rob!

Your Bantam looks like it is in great condition. I hope I get to see it sometime soon... perhaps at the 2012 PA Jeeps show?  ;)

I finished my Bantam this fall. In addition to the Line-X, I restored the original side racks. The original uprights were used as patterns for oak replacements. The side rails were cleaned up and re-used. The horizontal rails for the front were duplicated in oak, based on photos of other Bantams.

Here is a pic I took over a week ago on that real warm January weekend. Had to get the Willys out, and decided to do my brush removal work with the Bantam instead of my pick-up truck. It sort of made a chore fun!  ;D

I fundamentally disagree with this policy. No other site I frequent insists on such an invasion. If it means you have to ban me from the site, then I'll catch ya on the flip side. I'll PM you so we can discuss it further.

Seriously "Wheelie," what's the big deal? Simple rules help to keep this forum family friendly. Since you state that you frequent other sites, you should know why we want to keep things friendly here. It's still a free country, so you are free to head to the "flip side" if you don't want to follow the guidelines same as the rest of the members. You are not going to get spammed by putting your name here!

I’m picking it up Friday, am unavailable to go wheeling Saturday so I’m heading back down to the lower end of my property to exert some “testosterone” and just might have another interesting write up for the Club’s Newsletter.
I'll add this too...It pays to have a stored inventory of variuos parts...and Nancy calls it junk..."She has NO clue".
My reply: If I can't use it someone I come accross will be able to... :)
Mike Hardesty liked my last property story (few years back) so I just might enlighten his day again with another.  ;D

Well Rick, did ya break anything???

Colli:

I sent you a PM. I would be happy to work Commando with you as long as we keep the garage doors closed!  ;)

Seriously, I would love to come over after work one evening and check it out in person. I have a good idea that you may not have or want to do too much to it based on the photos.

I would definitely not turn that into a trail rig! They are too rare, and your looks like a gem.

Shoot me an e-mail and we can set a time to get together.

Mike

When I go, I think they will mount the post hole digger on the John Deere and just drop my ashes into the hole.

Don't forget the cow bell KY Steve! (That way, you'll be a dead ringer...!) ;D

Thanks Kane!

Chip: I have friends with sand blasting and bead blasting set-ups, so I take stuff to them to get it done. Depending on the parts, I paint some stuff myself. Really big stuff goes to my friend's shop. Powder coating I get done at a shop in Eldersburg. MD named Metal Refinishing Systems, Inc. They do "medium black" all the time for railings and commercial stuff... and that happens to be a nice color for high wear Jeep parts like bumpers, steps, and diff covers!

Did you run through some puddles or standing water?

Had a similar problem at Rausch Creek before after water got in the distributor cap. Opened it up, dried it out, also sprayed WD-40 around the connections and solved the problem. The WD-40 drives out moisture...
